Gnocchi with Gorgonzola Sauce recipe

This simple yet elegant (and decadent) meal is perfect for serving whenever you have guests over as it takes literally less than ten minutes from pot to plate. Serve with some wilted spinach and some pine nuts sprinkled over to make it slightly less rich.

Ingredients:

  • 500g gnocchi
  • 100g gorgonzola cheese
  • 100ml double cream
  • 60g butter
  • Salt and pepper

Directions:

  1. Melt the gorgonzola in a small pan with the butter. Gradually pour in the cream, stirring all the while, and season with salt and pepper to serve.

  2. Meanwhile, cook the gnocchi in boiling salted water until it floats to the top of the pot. To serve, spoon the creamy sauce over the gnocchi.

You could also add a few handfuls of spinach to the sauce to make a spinach and cheese sauce - just cook until the spinach wilts down. This recipe serves four.

This was an enjoyable recipe. As the recipe suggests, the sauce is quite rich, so adding pine nuts or something similar definitely a good idea.
